Thinking of remodeling your home to make it more energy efficient? You may be able to cash in on your home improvements! A Green Loan is a discount that is included in your mortgage.

To apply for a Green Loan, your home must first be assessed by a Certified Home Energy Rater to determine an energy efficient rating. The Energy Savings Value will be calculated during this process, for any improvements you plan on making to your home as well to inform you of how much you will be saving over time.

Green Loans offer discounts two ways:

• You can buy an energy efficient home and get a discount based on the efficiency of the home.
• Or, if you plan on making energy efficient improvements to your home, you will be offered a discount
in order to make those improvements.

Green Loan plans will differ depending on if your loan is a Conventional, FHA, VA, or Energy Star mortgage.
