Shore Financial Services, Inc. WILL AWARD UP TO $1000 EACH TO 100 FAMILIES, LAUNCHES SECOND $100,000 “WE UNDERSTAND” FUND TO DIRECTLY ASSIST SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN HOMEOWNERS BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS

Birmingham, Michigan… “giving continues to be our corporate policy,” says Shore Financial Services, Inc. President, Robert Rahal. Touched by recipients’ needs during the first $100,000 gifting, Michigan firm will now launch the second “We Understand” program for “forgotten homeowners.”

Shore Financial Services, Inc., a Michigan-based lender specializing in mortgage lending for over 26 years, is providing $100,000 to the company’s highly successful “WE UNDERSTAND” economic stimulus program to benefit the “forgotten” yet conscientious homeowner who is current with their mortgage payments with any mortgage company and who applied for the money for his or her primary residence. Applicants are required to be southeastern Michigan residents.

Rahal explains, “We are passionate about the people who do everything right. They are in true need of assistance today. They cut back on their spending so that they can pay their obligations, and their reward for being responsible is that they are ignored. Today’s national spotlight continues to be on foreclosures, but no one is talking about assisting these conscientious people as they have no foreclosure nor repossession issues. They are truly the forgotten Michigan residents.”

Added Rahal, “This is the second launch of our outreach. Therefore, we are continuing to search for homeowners who do make their mortgage payments responsibly, who could use extra financial help (one to three months’ mortgage payments, up to $1000) at this time so they can dedicate their hard earned funds for other purposes. Each of the selected applicants will receive a check payable both to the applicant and to their own mortgage company. Our “WE UNDERSTAND” program will free up funds for other family objectives.”

Letters of appreciation from the first program pointed out the extent of Michigan families’ financial needs. With the state’s double digit unemployment, worries about jobs, senior parent obligations, college tuitions, unexpected home repairs were common threads that ran through the more than 400 applications.

With their month’s mortgage paid by Shore, recipients told of being able to buy enough food to “fill two freezers for the first time,” of having a little left over to take a brief vacation, to go to a restaurant and treat the children to “any hamburger on the menu and still have the mortgage paid for the month.” Many recipients needed the extra funds to pay bills that were “remnants from the last month, of rewarding an entire family of honor roll college students with a special outing all together before school begins again.” Others “paid it forward” and donated their extra funds to a local elementary school to pay tuition for needy students. Still others, coping with special needs children, used their freed up money to make necessary home improvements to update their residences.

Homeowners who applied for the original “We Understand” funds for their primary residence and did not win, are encouraged to apply again. Past recipients are ineligible.
